Cambium Group Launches PLAN Web Site for North Carolina Credit Union

For Immediate Release

Montpelier, VT - Cambium Group, LLC, a leading web site development firm specializing in innovative web site designs and content management systems announced the launch of a new financial planning web site for Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina.

LGFCU continues to work with Cambium Group to produce online services that improve the lives of their members.  With a high importance placed on consumer education and the teaching of financial thrift, LGFCU looked to Cambium to develop a web site dedicated to helping their members plan for their financial future, called PLAN (http://www.plan.lgfcu.org

Dion Williams, Vice President, Financial Services at LGFCU explained the objectives and process for developing the PLAN site, "The plan site has really been a long time in the making. At LGFCU, we want members to think of us first for any significant financial event in their lives. Therefore it was paramount to have a vast resource of information available to members on topics relating to personal finance. We decided early on that we would go beyond a glossary of terms or personal finance blogs."

"Choosing the right partners was essential in making the plan site reality. PLAN stands for "prepare, learn, act ... now". All of those elements had to be present in the site. The base information on financial planning topics is called the plan Resource Center. Truebridge is the provider of that content as well as the checklist that helps member's kick-start their navigation through the site. This addressed the areas of "prepare" and "learn" with content that is timely, accurate, and easy to read."

"Cambium Group helped us complete the equation so members could "act ... now". The site contains information on products and services. Plus, members can read about the financial planning staff and contact us directly via email. Our new radio show will also be archived on the site as well as a schedule of our educational seminars on personal finance that take place statewide. In short, we want to give members the tools to be successful if they are do-it-yourselfers. And if they want a helping hand, members have the financial planning staff at their fingertips."

"Working with Cambium Group was a great experience as the process was interactive, consultative, and flexible to our evolving needs. This initial launch of the site is just the beginning. We have very big plans for this site going forward and we're pleased to have found a trusted partner in Cambium Group to help bring it to fruition."

Cambium Group developed the site utilizing the same content management solution that LGFCU has used for the past year to manage their main web site. Both sites are easily maintained with the single system. Built with a modular approach, Cambium was able to add functionality to ensure the site's interactivity, as well provide supplemental tools for the credit union to present and manage content.

Specific functionality include the Financial Checklist which was created using Cambium's Decision Tool module. The Document Management module allows LGFCU to post PDF files of quick guides and other financial topics. News, events, expert advice, links to LGFCU's Money Wise radio show and contact a planner round out the complete offering of online planning services easily updated by the credit union. Finally, Cambium seamlessly integrated interactive calculators designed to assist members in exploring specific financial possibilities.
