Formerly known as the Telephone Credit Union of New Hampshire, the credit union sought to change their name in order to reflect the growing diversity of its members. The new name and the new logo designed by Cambium Group supports Bellwether Community Credit Union's mission to be a leader in providing high rates of return on deposits, low rates on loans, and few fees.
Since 2002 Cambium Group and Bellwether Community CU have worked together to strengthen the credit union's web channel which has proven to be vital in supporting their membership. During the process of the name change, Bellwether naturally looked to Cambium to design a logo and subsequently, update the website to reflect the new name. "Bellwether" carries a meaning of being a leader or a leading indicator and Bellwether stocks are ones that indicate where the market is trending. Given this direction, Cambium designed a logo that conveys not only the name, but the personality and values of the organization - leadership, guidance, value and helping members achieve financial success.
To ensure the proper application of the new logo, color scheme and graphic elements that were used to create the distinct "look and feel" of Bellwether Community Credit Union, Cambium also developed a Corporate Standards Manual. Guidelines established in the manual ensure a careful and consistent presentation across the broad spectrum of the credit union's corporate materials. Maintaining a consistent identity also included refreshing the credit union's website. The goal was to update the design, infusing the identity and assuring members that they may look to the credit union for guidance and help in setting a plan for their financial success.
A thorough update of the site including enhanced online services to members is planned in the near future. Meanwhile, the interactive web site continues to serve members with seamless integration of CUNA's Home and Family Finance Resource articles, integration with the Silvercloud Software's knowledge base system, VisualCalc financial calculators, and secure online applications to apply for membership and loans.
Cambium Group's design of the former Telephone Credit Union web site received two awards in 2003 from the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council and the Marketing Association of Credit Unions.
